13th October 2017 - Tonight, Minims, the Cantabile Violin Quartet, Rosie (cello tutor), Agatha and an ensemble of Laura, Ken,

Rosie and Sally, our accompanist, all performed in the Grantham Music Festival's fundraising concert. A great night celebrating

local talent.


September 2017 - Our 5th anniversary year is off to a great start. This term we have 12 ensembles rehearsing and have welcomed

Rowan Cozens to our Sunday team as a new music tutors and expanded our musicianship provision with Ken Garfield to all the groups.


28-31st August 2017 Our Summer workshop saw 65 young musicians aged 5-17 taking part in a range of workshops,

chamber music, master classes and in two full string orchestras. The children worked with tutors from top conservatoires and

professional orchestras including Andrea Gajic, Clare Thompson, Ian Pressland and Rowan Cozens. You can see lots of clips and

6th May 2017 - Some of the Oasby Music Group children, parents and I travelled to Saffron Walden for Nicola Benedetti and ESTA strings workshop. We had a fab day and learnt so much.


23rd April 2017 - We were delighted to welcome Penny Spencer to Minims to deliver a really engaging and interesting workshop on Vivaldi's Concerto for 4 Violins. As well as working on performance, we also enjoyed seeing the baroque instruments and bows and looking at manuscripts of Vivaldi's and Corelli's music. Thank you for coming.


16th April 2017 - Our children's NCO successes have made it into the local press:


12th and 13th April 2017 - Our two day Easter Senior course took place at the Grantham Preparatory school. Conducted by Natalia Luis-Bassa and supported by tutor team Ian Pressland, Rowan Cozens and Caroline Davis, 30 young musicians worked on 6 pieces including Tchaikovsky's Nocturne for cello and string orchestra played by soloist Rosie Spinks, Vivaldi's String Concerto in C minor and Grainger's Molly on the Shore. We had a superb concert - possibly the best end of course concert yet conducting with Millie conducting an encore of Hallelujah. Congratulations to all the children on such an amazing achievement and a special congratulations to Rosie our cello soloist for a beautiful performance. A massive thank you to our conductor Natalia Luis-Bassa for such an inspirational course full of energy, fun and dedication to achieve excellence.


11th April 2017 - 28 Junior string players came together for a fantastic day course ending in a super performance.


30th March 2017 - Congratulations to Millie, Holly, Freya and Amelia who all found out today they have passed their ABRSM grade 5

theory exam - some super marks and a distinction for 9 year old Amelia!


26th March 2017 - Here is our Minims Ensemble's live performance of Vivaldi's Concerto for 4 Violins 1st movement recorded at our concert.


19th March 2017 - Extremely proud of the outstanding performance given by Hester, Isaac, Amelia and Freya at the Pro Corda Chamber

Music Finals. Their playing was mature beyond their years and we couldn't have asked for more of them. Proud to be one of the top 4 under 12s chamber ensembles in the UK. They were also awarded the Anne Abbot trophy for best performance of Grantham Music Festival the previous evening at the festival concert, for the 2nd year in a row.
